Lead Pastor Redemption San Francisco Plant
Favorite quote: "I was blinded by the devil Born already ruined Stone-cold dead As I stepped out of the womb By His grace I have been touched By His word I have been healed By His hand I’ve been delivered By His spirit I’ve been sealed."
- Saved, Bob Dylan
Tell us about your family
I have been married to my wife, Emilie, for 5 years, and we have one beautiful 2-year old daughter named Lily.
What do you do for the church?
I'm the Lead Pastor for Preaching and Vision.
What hobbies/activities do you enjoy?
I follow Arizona State Football and Diamondbacks baseball almost religiously. I also love to read and spend time with my girls.
What excites you about Redemption Church?
I love the historically unprecedented nature of the vision and the fact that this has taken a lot of humility and Kingdom vision to accomplish.
What's a good book/movie you've read/watched lately?
I recently read Why Johnny Can't Preach by T. David Gordon, which was a great book about why many of us preachers struggle to deliver helpful, Gospel-saturated sermons. The last movie I saw in the theater was Inception, which I think was about dreams.
Given the choice between a vacation in New York or a vacation in Yellowstone, which would you choose and why?
New York, hands down. I love the city. I spend a couple weeks every year in San Francisco and love every minute of it.
If you could meet one historical person (besides Jesus), who would it be?
No question, C.S. Lewis. I have never read an author that I disagreed with so much theologically who still helped me love God as much as Lewis. Plus, I know he was a great story teller and I could just listen to him talk.
