A Life of Thanksgiving

Lead Pastor of Redemption Church

Favorite quote:“For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.” - 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Tell us about your family

I've been married to Hayley for 8 years. We have two great boys and a beautiful baby girl. Braden is 5 and loves the drums, reading, and baseball. Yale is 3 and is a fun child that can always make us laugh. He loves watching baseball and imitating all the hitters. Lucianna is just a few months old and loves eating and sleeping.

What do you do for the church?

I'm currently the Pastor of City Engagement, which a cool name for overseeing church planting, church partnerships, Christian community development, and the work we do in the city. I'm also a part of the Leadership Team.

What hobbies/activities do you enjoy?

I really enjoy watching sports, particularly baseball, Nebraska football, and the Denver Broncos. I also enjoy reading all types of things. My favorite thing of all is hanging out with my family and rough-housing with my boys. I "take them down to Chinatown" all the time.

What excites you about Redemption Church?

I'm excited that this church is all about the gospel. When the gospel transforms us within, it turns us radically out.  In our uniting, we will be able to use our combined resources to bless other churches, our city, our state, and our world.

What's a good book/movie you've read/watched lately?

I'm currently reading a great book on the mission of the church titled The Best Kept Secret of Christian Mission: Promoting the Gospel with More Than Our Lips. This is a great read on how we go about preaching and promoting the gospel.

Given the choice between a vacation in New York or a vacation in Yellowstone, which would you choose and why?

I would go to New York City a hundred out of a hundred times. I love cities. The density and diversity plays right into my personality. I'm more at rest among hustle and bustle. I do like nature but I get ADD when it's too quiet.

Coffee or Tea? Why?

I'm a coffee guy. My absolute favorite is the Toddy at Cartel Coffee. Tea seems very bland to me.
