A driving principle behind our Community & Global Initiatives (CGI) is our value of demonstration.
We know this to be true: Jesus loves people. He loves sinners. He has compassion on them and he knows we need him. He does not compartmentalize between the physical and spiritual needs of people. He sees all their needs and he reaches them.
As Christians, Jesus has called us to be ambassadors in our local community, in our region, and to the very ends of the earth—to live out what we believe. Jesus commands us to go: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
CGI strives to demonstrate the good news of the gospel to those that need it most both locally and across the globe. We do this by meeting physical needs and providing the hope that only the good news of Jesus can provide.
Initiatives
Broadway Corridor
This is an initiative started by Redemption Church to serve the Broadway Corridor community in Mesa, Arizona. The ongoing efforts in this community have resulted in a thriving community center, a church plant, practical training for job skills, and much more.
Mt. Nebo Prison Ministries
As Mt Nebo Prison Ministry enters its third decade of ministering to the incarcerated. It has been, is, and will always be a story of God’s faithfulness. What initially began as a vision in 1991 to reach Arizona prisoners with sound biblical teaching has been used by God to reach prisoners at hundreds of state and federal prisons around the country.
We provide incarcerated men and women with a 13 chapter workbook called Fundamentals of the Faith which becomes a foundation to build their understanding of the Gospel and the basics of the Christian faith. After completion they mail it back to us for grading and it is returned to them with a MacArthur Study Bible. We are now the largest distributor of (English) MacArthur Study Bibles in the world, distributing thousands every year. For many of these men and women it is the resource they use to grow in their faith.
We also provide biblically based books and one-on-one discipling through letter writing with dozens of inmates that have vibrant ministries within the prisons.
