Everything we do as a church is in the context of community. We gather as a community on Sundays to study the scriptures and worship God. And during the week we gather in Redemption Communities, small groups of people who live life together and meet in homes across the valley to continue our study and live out what we learn in our local context.

Gospel Centered

Redemption Communities are formed by the word of God. Through both formal study and informal interaction, the people who make up a community constantly seek to understand the Bible on a deeper level and apply it to every area of their lives.

Outward Focused

Understanding Jesus’s call to go and make disciples, Redemption Communities also engage their families, workplaces, and neighborhoods, actively living out the gospel. The majority of social ministry at Redemption Church is accomplished in and through Redemption Communities, and the stories of changed lives are plentiful and profound. To us, being outward focused means we look away from ourselves by loving God, loving the church, and loving the world.

Love God
Our attention, affection, and focus are on God. Without the gospel changing our desires, we can’t love God, but instead love ourselves and things we believe are more important than God. We repent by looking to the cross of Jesus as individuals and as a community.

Love the church
We serve and care for the church. Without the gospel changing our affections, the church exists only to serve us. Instead, we seek to live a life of demonstrated love towards others and our church family.

Love the world
We seek to serve our city and the world, living out the gospel. We proclaim the good news of Jesus loudly in our actions and with our words as ambassadors of Jesus to the world.

What can I expect?

Each and every Redemption Community has its own DNA. But there are some common traits you’ll find wherever you go. Communities are gatherings of friends and neighbors who desire to know more about God, his word, and to live out the truths of scripture more fully in all of life. They often come together to pray and to study, but just as often they come together to hang out, enjoy food, celebrate life’s milestones, and have an all around good time. More than anything, you can expect a community of believers who are there for each other and for their surrounding community.

Where do they meet?

As a multi-congregational church, each Redemption Church Campus has Redemption Communities that call that campus home. Generally, members of a Redemption Community worship together at the same campus, live close to one another, and meet in homes in the neighborhoods surrounding that campus.

How can I join a Redemption Community?

If you’re looking to become more involved at Redemption Church, membership in a local Redemption Community is essential. To join a Redemption Community, please start an account on The City and join the connect group for your local campus. From there, a Connect Group Agent will walk you through the process and help you find a good fit.
